First After School Skate Camp In The Books!
What a great success! Twelve total kids from Clinton Elementary School were able to participate in three days of skateboarding basics.
Over the three days every single student dramatically improved. Each one getting one on one time throughout the two hour sessions by the instructors, Randy and Thane!

Something like half of the students had never been on a skateboard until the first day of the Skate Camp.

It’s official, June 1st will be our Grand Opening! While the Skate Park has been open since the concrete was finished, we weren’t able to schedule a Grand Opening event until June 1st. So come down and enjoy some time skating! Maybe grab a bite to eat, and maybe meet a special guest!

The ASP skate camp will be run with Missoula City Parks and Recreation department, and available only to currently enrolled Clinton Elementary students in 2nd-8th grade. The Skate Camp will be offered for two three day sessions of about 13 students in March, on the 6th-8th and the 13th-15th with afternoon times matching the Clinton ASP times. The Skate Camp is being offered as a program outside of ASP, and is being funded through donations/sponsorship secured by the efforts of the Clinton Community Park Working Group (Thank you Jane!

While we’ve been very quiet on social media and the web site here, the Park Working Group has been busy over winter! Today it is lazily snowing outside as I write this. The Park Working Group has been keeping regular monthly meetings with Missoula County PTOL all winter, and we’re all excited for Spring and Summer!
Starting a recreation program from scratch isn’t easy. While this year we only have the Skatepark itself we want to get the wheels rolling, both figuratively and literally.
